Comfy Soles Ottawa Inc. was established in August 2013. Lise Tremblay-Simard, Manager and Owner of the clinic has been practicing Pedorthics since 1996 and is an active member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada and the College of Pedorthics of Canada. She continues to pursue education in the field to improve her knowledge and abilities in Pedorthotic Therapy.
She has extensive experience of lower limb conditions in hospitals and various clinical settings in Ottawa, Bells Corners, Orléans and Pembroke, Ontario.
Lise has been working closely with Chiropodist Lori Barnes, D.Ch. since 1996. She also works alongside Physicians, Chiropodists and Footcare Nurses in helping mild to severe diabetic feet conditions including ulcers.
Over the years Lise has developed relationships and earned the confidence from many health care professionals in the Ottawa region in her abilities to care and to treat their patients.
Her expertise include helping with Plantar Fasciitis, Arthritis, Diabetic foot conditions as well as Gait Abnormalities due to Biomechanical Challenges or due to Neurological Conditions. She also specialises in helping Athletes and Children.
Since 2006 Lise has taught future Certified Pedorthists of Western University and Second year Medical Residents of the University of Ottawa on the functionality of custom foot orthotics. She is also published in the 2012 “Pedorthic Clinical Practice Guidelines”
All her clients receive a full lower limb assessment that lasts approximately 45 – 60 minutes. This includes history taking, gait analysis, orthotic selection and advice of the treatment plan and footwear options. She takes a lot of pride in giving the best care and to offer the service and the best products available to all of her clients.

A 4 year old child complaining of chronic leg pain when walking. Her alignment at the ankle shows severe pronation and some in-toeing because of posterior tibialis muscle weakness and fatigue. With orthotics and supportive footwear we can achieve a better alignment. Wearing the support will allow her muscles to relax and regain strength in hopes of achieving a better alignment and decreasing strain on her joints and muscles for long term comfort.
An Active 50 year old male with supination and tibia varum. Has a history of ankle and knee pain and peroneal subluxation with nerve impingement.

Custom orthotics are usually ready for pick-up seven days after the assessment appointment. The cost for one pair includes all the appointments involved. A follow-up will be scheduled 4 weeks after the pick-up and also includes yearly check-ups along with a detailed report of the findings is sent to the referring professional.
All adjustments appointments are included. We have an on-site laboratory; therefore all fabrications, adjustments and fittings are done on-site and during the appointment. Children under the age of 16 are seen every 6 months to monitor foot structural changes.
